Divine purpose defines your existence and what may appear arbitrary is intentional. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations" (Jer. 1:5). Consider your calling, brethren, and Him who knows you eternally. To "know" is to choose, set apart, sanctify. Divine intentionality guides providences which on the surface may appear random, disconnected. Inasmuch as God's choice of you occurred in eternity your life had no bearing in His choice of you. He is the Potter and you a are a lump of clay. To "consecrate" is to direct to a specific calling. To "appoint" is to ordain. As one known by God your life is rich in purpose. The age in which you were born, your lineage, the geographical local of your entrance into the world were all determined. Soberly discerning your God given endowments is fundamental to being a good steward and it is also the pathway to the highest joy. Consider, therefore, who the Lord made you to be in light of strengthens, inclinations, satisfaction, and effectiveness. As these come into alignment you are walking in the way He has intended for His purpose and glory.
